Note: Entries are to be placed on display Wednesday, August 8th, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM and are not to be removed until Sunday, August 12th at 4:00 pm.

Rules and Regulations:

  1. One entry per exhibitor in any section
  2. Exhibitor must be a member of the Society unless listed as a Junior entry.
  3. All entries must be produced or grown by exhibitor.
  4. Entries must be phoned in to 613-833-0004 or emailed to debbie.locas@sympatico.ca on or before Friday, August 3rd, to Kim or Debbie Locas.
  5. Plates will be available for vegetables
  6. Judging will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday, August 9th.
  7. All vegetables should be lightly washed.
  8. Sweet corn, 1/3 husk removed from tip to butt.
  9. Onions not to be peeled, but roots may be left on.
  10. Blossoms should be left on beans.
  11. Beans separated and uniform in size.

8. Cucumbers, gherkins (4) 1” to 2” – ½ stem till attached

JUNIOR CLASS – AGE 7 YEARS AND UNDER

A. A photograph of a farm animal and you – (mounted 8 ½” x 11″)
    example: frame within frame. (No real frames – use construction paper)
B. Create a farm animal paper plate mask – using seeds, egg cartons etc. (Must have eye holes)
C. Straw Hat Decorated. (Small) – “Easter Theme”
D. Assorted Vegetables in a toy, using horses, tractors and wagons etc.
E. Create a mode of transportation using an egg carton
F. Collage of farm equipment (a variety of pictures – no background showing).

JUNIOR CLASS – AGE 8 TO 11

Prize Money
1st – $5.00    2nd – $4.00    3rd – $3.00    4th – $2.50
G. A photograph of unusual farm animal friendships (example cow & cat) – (mounted on 8 ½”
    x 11″) example: frame within frame. (No real frames –use construction paper)
H. Create a “milk truck” using seeds, egg cartons etc.
I.  Scarecrow no more than 5 feet high – must be free standing and use things that blow in the
    wind.
J. Straw Hat Decorated – “As your favourite farm animal”
K. Dress up a potato as a turkey.
L. A collage of farm animals – different breeds of cows – 8” x 11”.

JUNIOR CLASS – AGE 12 TO 16

M. Straw Wreath decorated – fall theme
N. Straw Hat Decorated – for Navan Fair
O. Create an advertisement with the slogan “From Farm Gate to Farm Plate” (8 ½ ” x 11”) slogan
     must be handwritten.
P. A photograph of sunrise or sunset on the farm – (Mounted on 8 ½” x 11”) example: frame
    within frame. (No real frames – use construction paper)
Q. Scarecrow – no more than 5 feet high – must be free standing and use things that blow in the
     wind.
R. Split picture of a farm (1/2 picture the other 1/2 hand drawn).

ADULT CLASS – AGE 17 AND OVER

S. Scarecrow – no more than 5 feet high – must be free standing and use things

W. Photograph of farm activity Past & Present – (Mounted 8 ½” x 11” paper)

X. Wedding centre piece – using artificial fruits & vegetables, grains – not to exceed 12” high
