<p>Rules and Regulations</p>
<ol>
<li>Each 	Exhibitor must 	purchase a 2011 Exhibitor Membership prior to the fair in order to exhibit.  Please refer to the membership 	section for prices. Payment must accompany the entry form.  	Exhibitors that have not purchased a 2011 membership will not be 	permitted to exhibit.</li>
<li>No 	entry or membership required for Peewee Exhibitors.</li>
<li>Entrance 	pass will be sent to Exhibitor once entries have been received.</li>
<li>Entry 	fees will be deducted at the rate of 10% from all prize money and 	mailed out after the event.</li>
<li>Exhibitor 	(rider) can only show 2 (two) horses per class.</li>
<li>Entries 	received after July 25, 2011 will be charged $10 for Seniors and $5 	for Juniors per class. ABSOLUTLEY 	NO ENTRIES THE DAY OF THE SHOW.</li>
<li>Day 	of show, upon arrival competitors must register with Director.</li>

<li>All 	exhibitors must show proof of $1,000,000.00 liability insurance 	coverage.</li>
<li>Horses 	must have a negative Coggins Test of the current year.</li>
<li>Directors 	reserve the right to adjust the payout if needed.</li>
<li>No 	interference or complaints to the judge or directors by any 	exhibitors will be allowed. Judges and Directors decisions are 	final.</li>
<li>Proper 	western riding attire is required; Western Hat (regular or hard), 	shirt with sleeves &amp; boots.</li>
<li>Once 	the exhibitor is in the ring and loses his/her hat he/she will be 	penalized 5 seconds.</li>
<li>Except 	for Peewee; horses may only enter once in a class.</li>
<li>For 	rider and horses security no chute start, circle rule applies. (You 	must circle your horse at the top of the ring before you start or 	you will be disqualified).</li>

<p>Frustrator Challenge</p>
<p>Bleachers will be available as well as natural seating for lawn chairs and blankets.</p>
<p>Rules and Regulations</p>
<ol>
<li>All 	entries will pull from a manufacturer’s standard draw bar hitch. 	If a ring hitch is used it must be attached to a standard draw bar; 	and not higher than 20 inches measured from the ground or scale pad.</li>
<li>All 	tractors must have the engine throttle controlled only by the 	manufacturer&#8217;s original throttle linkage.</li>
<li>All 	operators are to remain seated during pull and follow the 	instructions of the track officials.</li>
<li>Farm 	stock tractors will have stock block and pistons, carburetor, or 	injection pump and other internal or external parts catalogue for 	make and model indicated only. If an entry is brought into question 	by another competitor, through the track officials, the onus is on 	the owner to prove the entry is indeed eligible for that class. If 	they are unwilling to prove their entry; they are automatically 	disqualified without recourse. (If tear down is requested, a $200.00 	deposit is required from complainant. If the tractor in question is 	legal, the $200.00 is given to the owner of the tractor. If the 	tractor is found to be illegal, the $200.00 is returned to the 	depositor.)</li>
<li>No 	alcohol or other racing fuels or pressurized fuels allowed unless 	manufactured L.P. gas tractor.</li>
<li>Evidence 	of alcohol and/or drugs in the operator is grounds for 	disqualification.</li>
<li>Stock 	classes &#8211; 7200, 9200, 11200, 12200, 13200, 15200, 16200 -20000 lbs.  	Antique classes (Pre-1960) 1000 to 3000 lbs., 3000 to 4000 lbs., 	4000 to 5000 lbs., 5000 to 6000 lbs., 6000 to 7000 lbs, 7000 to 8000 	lbs., 8000 to 9000 lbs., 9000 to 10000 lbs.</li>
<li>All 	tires to be prescribed in manufacturers&#8217; literature for make and 	model.</li>
<li>Start 	from tight hitch &#8211; no test pull dropping in pail off. If sled is 	okay, 1st pull is only pull. 50-foot restart in pull off only 	applies if tractor stalls.</li>
<li>Any 	weights or parts falling from tractor while pulling will result in 	disqualification.</li>
<li>Competitors 	must be 16 years or older.</li>
<li>All 	tractors must weigh in immediately after pull.</li>
<li>Front 	end of tractor lifting more than 30 inches will be stopped by Judge.</li>
<li>The 	decision of the Track Judge is final. Debate could entail ejection.</li>
<li>Tractors 	that go out of bounds while pulling are automatically disqualified 	by the Track Official.</li>
<li>Only 	tractors manufactured before 1960 will be eligible to compete in the 	antique classes. Entries must meet original specifications. 	Performance enhancing or modification is not permitted</li>
<li>Tires: 	Stock sizes as from factory or disqualified.</li>
<li>Turbos: 	Only equipped from factory</li>
<li>Exhaust: 	Stock as from factory or straight</li>
<li>Hitch: 	As farm stock regulation.</li>
<li>R.P.M.: 	All gas tractors will not exceed manufactured rpm of 2200 rpm. All 	diesel tractors will not exceed manufactured rpm of 2500 rpm.</li>
<li>Engine: 	Stock block to match make of tractor. All other tractors that do not 	meet these requirements may not pull.</li>
<li>Trucks 	must pull with original manufacturer’s specifications and hitch.</li>
<li>Technical 	judge&#8217;s decision is final. Any harassment of the judge will be an 	automatic disqualification.</li>

<p>Rules and Regulations</p>
<ul>
<li>No 	membership required.</li>
<li>No 	entry fee.</li>
<li>No 	large animals such as ponies, horses, cows or calves.</li>
<li>Exhibitors 	must be 12 years of age and under.</li>
<li>Exhibitors 	must be able to handle pet by themselves.</li>
<li>Exhibitors 	to provide cages and/or transportation for pets.</li>
<li>All 	pets must be living (no dolls, stones, etc.)</li>
<li>Entries 	should be phoned ahead by Friday, 	August 12, so that the committee will know how many entries to expect. All 	entries should be in the Dome area. Judging will commence at 2:15 	pm.</li>
<li>The 	Society will not accept responsibility for damage or loss of these 	pets. See Rule #15 (CTAS Rules and Regulations – Exhibitors and 	Competitors)</li>
<li>Prizes: 	$1.00 with a special gift bag</li>
<li>Some 	of the categories the judges will be using include:</li>

<p>Largest Pet &#8211; Shortest Pet &#8211; Longest Hair &#8211; Shortest Hair &#8211; Best Trained &#8211; Best Groomed &#8211; Best Feathered – Loudest &#8211; Best Swimmer &#8211; Largest Family &#8211; Longest Ears</p>
<p>- Most Unusual &#8211; Longest Tail &#8211; Shortest Tail &#8211; Curliest Hair &#8211; Best Presentation etc.</p>
<p>Note to entrants and parents: Due to nature of this division, late entries will not be refused. However, every effort should be made to phone in entries to the Fair office by Friday, August 13, 2011.</p>
<p>Please include the following information when entering in the parade:</p>

<ol>

<li>Unlicensed 	drivers will not be allowed to operate motorized vehicles in the 	parade.</li>
<li>Entries 	to be phoned to the fair office (613-835-2766) or to Eleanor Hodges 	at 613-833-2792, by Friday 	August 5th. 	The parade will begin in the field on Smith Road, adjacent to Smith 	Ridge Meadows. (Same as last year.)</li>
<li>Theme 	of the Fair this year is, “Turning 	Back the Clock”. 	You may refer to the theme when you design your float entries, but 	it is not compulsory.</li>
<li>Each 	entry is to supply own power (tractor, horse or vehicle) and wagon 	for the float, with a maximum height of 12 feet.</li>
<li>Judging 	will be based equally on creativity, interest, and over-all 	appearance.</li>
<li>All 	judged entries to be in place no later than 09:30am on August 13, 	as judging will commence promptly at 10.00. (Please 	note that costumed children, and decorated bikes &amp; pets need to 	be present no 	later than 10:00 for their judging.)</li>
<li>All non-judged entries 	to be in place no 	later than 10:15.</li>
<li>The 	parade will start at 11:00, rain or shine.</li>
<li>The 	parade ends at the Delson Drive entrance to the Fair grounds. 	(Floats may continue along Delson to Trim Road for return to the 	parade field for dismantling if required.)</li>
<li>Tossing 	of candy etc; is not recommended due to liability issues, but 	hand-delivery is encouraged.</li>
</ol>

<p>The Lloyd G. Morrison Memorial Plaque will be awarded to the best float in this year’s parade. This plaque, donated by Jean Morrison, will be presented following the judging of the floats and is to be displayed in the Navan Fair&#8217;s Agricultural building. A large rosette ribbon will also be given to the best float entry.</p>

<li>All 	Breeding Class will be held on Thursday, August 11. Classes will 	begin at 9:00 am SHARP. The Clydesdale Judge will also be the Judge 	for all of the Hitch Classes on Friday and Saturday.</li>
<li>An 	entry fee of 15% will be deducted from your total prize money.</li>
<li>Exhibitor 	entries will be date stamped upon being received by the Secretary.  	Entries received after the closing date will be penalized an 	additional 5% of the prize money awarded.</li>
<li>Entries 	must be receive by July 	8  by</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>either mailed 	to the Secretary, Navan Fair, 1279 Colonial Road, Navan, ON, K4B 	1N1, or</li>

<li>Entries 	must include the following: 1) Registration numbers and names of 	horses; 2) Proof of liability insurance for the current year; 3) 	Stall reservations and stall fees; 4) Membership fee; 5) Negative 	Coggins test (please do not fax in Coggins).</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Numbers 	must be obtained from the Show Secretary. Exhibitors must wear 	exhibitor numbers when showing.</li>
<li>All 	animals shown in purebred classes, whether owned or leased, must be 	registered, in the name of the exhibitor, in the respective Breed 	Registry.</li>
<li>All 	animals, with the exception of foals of 2011, must have proof of a 	negative Coggins Test within the current year, to be shown at the 	Secretary&#8217;s desk when picking up numbers.</li>
<li>The 	Board of Directors reserves the right to make final decisions on all 	problems that may arise.</li>
<li>All 	animals must be properly restrained at all times.</li>
<li>No 	entry additions or revisions on the day of the show.  Please inform 	the Show Secretary of any scratches that are to be deleted from a 	class.</li>
<li>Stall 	fees are as follows: Barn No.1 (Lancaster Barn): $8.00 per stall per 	day; Barn No.2 and 4: $6.00 per stall per day.  Line horses, which 	show on Thursday, only, must vacate their stalls by 6:00 pm on 	August 11. Only those stall reservations made through the Secretary, 	by submitting them with the entry forms, will be honoured on a first 	come basis.  A cheque made payable to CTAS in the correct amount 	must be included with the entry. No reservations will be accepted 	over the phone. Preference to the allocation of stalls will be given 	to those exhibitors who forwarded cheques with their entry form.  	Due to limited space, tack stalls may not be available. We ask all 	exhibitors co-operation in stabling arrangements.  Hitch horses are 	not to arrive on the grounds until after 8:00 pm Thursday, August 11 	unless specific arrangements have been made through the Fair office.</li>
<li>No 	vehicles allowed in the barns.</li>
<li>Horses 	are not permitted outside of the hitching, stabling, showing, 	loading and unloading areas; direct routes are designated to travel 	between the areas listed above.</li>
<li>The 	exhibitor(s) shall be responsible at all times for their exhibit at 	the Navan Fair; and the Cumberland Township Agricultural Society 	shall not be held responsible for any accidents occurring to any 	patron of the Navan Fair on the fair grounds, during the Navan Fair 	or at any other time.</li>
<li>No 	exhibitor shall receive more than 2 (two) prizes in any one class.</li>
<li>The 	Heavy Horse Division pertains to the following Breeds of horses: 	Belgian, Clydesdale, Percheron, Shire and Commercial.</li>
<li>It 	shall be the responsibility of each exhibitor to keep his or her 	stalls clean by removing manure to a designated area.</li>
<li>Exhibitor 	entrance gate is on Delson Drive.</li>
<li>Any 	driven entry must have two capable drivers, excluding cart classes 	when handlers are required to enter the ring.</li>
<li>Under 	no circumstances will exhibitors cover the sponsor plaques mounted 	in Barn No.1 (Lancaster Barn).</li>
<li>If 	an exhibitor refuses to leave the ring when excused by the 	Ringmaster, prize money won in that class will be forfeited.</li>
<li>Alcoholic 	beverages can only be consumed in the licensed areas of the fair 	grounds.</li>
<li>Only 	exhibitors and officials will be allowed in the show ring when the 	classes are in progress.</li>
<li>A 	judge officiating at the Show shall not be subjected to indignities 	of any kind during the progress of the show.</li>
</ol>
<p>Note: Program outlines the Order of Classes for Thursday, August 11, will be available when you pick up your exhibitors numbers. Please pick up your numbers by 8:30 am.</p>
<p>Bedding and hay, although the responsibility of the exhibitor, will be available for purchase at the Fair.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-400" title="Demolition Derby" src="http://navanfair.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/derby1-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" />The Demolition Derby has always been a crowd favorite here at the Navan Fair. Whats not to like? The sound of engines at full throttle as they take aim at their next victim, the hissing of steam as radiators get punctured, the sight of a car crushed like a pop can still running even if it only on two wheels. It&#8217;s fabulous entertainment for the entire family!</p>
<p>This year again sees us with two divisions competing at the fair. On Thursday August 11th at 7pm we have the four cylinder vehicles taking to the track and the big eight cylinder cars go at it the very next night on Friday August 12th, again at 7pm.</p>

<p>Rules and Regulations</p>
<ol>
<li>Drivers 	must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.</li>
<li>Drivers 	must complete and sign an entry form, and waiver.</li>
<li>All 	drivers are responsible for supplying their own car.</li>
<li>Participants 	must register and have their car inspected at least one hour before 	the demolition start time of 7:00 pm.</li>
<li>No 	participants or crewmember shall consume or be under the influence 	of alcohol or drugs. If so they will immediately be escorted from 	the grounds.</li>
<li>The 	Navan Fair and/or the promoter reserve the right to approve or 	reject any or all entries.</li>
<li>The 	drivers meeting will be held prior to the scheduled demolition start 	time.</li>
<li>No 	fighting or arguing with officials or other participants will be 	tolerated. Any instigators will be escorted from the grounds.</li>
<li>The 	official&#8217;s decision is final.</li>
<li>The 	Navan Fair, Cumberland Township Agricultural Society Board of 	Directors, Members of the Cumberland Township Agricultural Society, 	and Organizers will not be responsible for any damages, injuries, or 	Personal Liability incurred by Participants of both events.</li>

<li>A 	20% entry fee will be deducted from prize money. Exhibitors&#8217; passes 	available at the Secretary&#8217;s office.</li>
<li>Judging 	will begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 11. Jersey show will 	commence at 6:00 pm.</li>
<li>All 	animals must arrive by 10:00 am, Thursday, August 11. No animals 	will be allowed on the grounds before Tuesday, August 9 at 9:00 am. 	This will be strictly enforced. All animals are to be removed from 	the grounds by midnight, August 11, unless arrangements are made.</li>
<li>Only 	one tie ring per animal will be allowed. This rule will be strictly 	enforced.</li>
<li>Straw 	may be available for a fee.  Please call Andrew at (613) 833-9035 to 	make arrangements ahead of time.</li>
<li>Each 	exhibitor is responsible for manure and milk removal to a designated 	area. We ask that no milk be dumped in manure piles.</li>
<li>Animals 	showing signs of contagious diseases or parasitic infections, i.e. 	ringworm, IBR, lice, will not be allowed on the grounds.</li>
<li>Each 	Exhibitor must have purchased a 2011 Membership prior to the fair in 	order to exhibit.  Exhibitors that have not purchased a 2011 	membership will not be permitted to exhibit.</li>
<li>All 	animals exhibited must be registered on the records of their 	applicable breed Association, in the name of the exhibitor. No 	animal will be accepted without a registration certificate. THERE 	WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.</li>
<li>Each 	animal will be checked against its pedigree prior to entry into the 	ring.</li>
<li>Each 	exhibitor may show a maximum of 10 animals. Plus 2 additional Jr. 	animals providing they are 4H calves and shown by the 4H member.</li>
<li>A 	maximum of two (2) substitute animals will be permitted. A fee of 	$5.00 per substitute will be charged.</li>
<li>The 	judge may be asked to give reasons on the top 3 or 4 animals.</li>
<li>Your 	attention is drawn to the fact that there must be at least 3 	exhibitors and 24 exhibits in each breed of dairy classification; if 	this is not achieved the Fair reserves the right to cancel the show.</li>
<li>For 	your convenience there will be a milking machine on the grounds 	provided by Dundas Agri Systems and the Navan Fair.</li>
<li>Premier 	Breeder &amp; Premier Exhibitor points will be calculated as 	follows:</li>

<p>Gay Lea Fat Production Award</p>
<p>The award will be presented to the cow with the highest kilograms of fat on a 305 day lactation completed by the cow placing in the top five (5) of her class. The cash award will be given out in the Sr. 3, 4-year old, 5-year old and mature cow classes.  Production awards must be available for verification prior to the show.</p>

<li>Your 	attention is drawn to the fact that there must be at least 3 	exhibitors and 24 exhibits in each breed of beef classification to 	receive the prize money stated. Otherwise, one-half of the 	stipulated amount will be paid in any class to any exhibitor.</li>
